In order to ensure a hitch-free , fair and credible polls, the Nigerian military, the Nigeria Police (NP) and Department of State Services (DSS) have warned that the personnel will not hesitate to punish any one who attempt to disrupt the peace of the citizen during the election.
The Acting Director Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Ismail Gusau stated this during a joint press briefing of the security agencies at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
The assurance came on the heels of the directive by President Muhammadu Buhari that the Service Chiefs and Heads of other security agencies should ensure safe, free and fair election billed to hold on Saturday February 25,2923.
General Gusau assured the law-abiding citizens that the Armed Forces of Nigeria will continue to support the Police who is the lead security agency in election management and other security agencies to curb any attempt by unscrupulous elements to disrupt the process.

“The Armed Forces of Nigeria is committed to partnering other security agencies in other to maintain law and order across the country and we are all ready to protect peoples mandate” he said.
The DSS spokesperson Mr Peter Afunanya in his speech assured that DSS personnel will display neutrality, professionalism and good conduct while discharging their responsibility during the election.
“We’ll continue to discharge our mandate of disseminating timely, actionable and proactive intelligence necessary for tactical operational and strategic decisions even beyond the elections” he said.
On his part the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi urged all citizens to comply with the stipulated rules of the game during the process and enjoined the eligible voters to go out and cast their votes in a peaceful manner.
He assured them that the police in collaboration with other security agencies would ensure their safety and adequately create a conducive environment for the Electoral body to deliver free, fair and credible elections
