The Nigerian Army (NA) has launched hotlines in all the 36 states of Nigeria and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to enhance elections security with a view to safeguarding and strengthening Nigeria’s democracy.
The gesture is in pursuant of the NA constitutional mandate of providing support to civil authorities and safeguard the sanctity of Democracy in Nigeria,
The Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu disclosed this in a statement relayed to Enugu Reporters on Tuesday.
General Nwachukwu noted that the NA has launched the list of Hotlines to enable the public to monitor and report conduct of troops during the 2023 general election.
“The effort which is part of the NA gesture to support the lead agency for the conduct of free ,fair and peaceful elections will position the institution to professionally discharge its constitutional duties.” He stated.

The statement enjoined the public to use the aforementioned phone numbers in their various states including Federal Capital Abuja for any misconduct by the NA personnel or report any security breach during the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
Recall that the NA has earlier produced and circulated Code of Conduct and Rules of Engagement for Operation Safe Conduct to formations and Units which is aimed at guiding and ensuring that troops operate within the purview of international best practices.
